How to Make Easter Bird Nests 🪺
A Sweet & Simple Spring Dessert
If you’re hosting brunch, attending a spring gathering, or just want to surprise your crew with a fun holiday treat—these Easter Bird Nests are an easy, beautiful option that will make everyone smile. With just a few store-bought ingredients and minimal prep time, you’ll have a festive dessert that looks as good as it tastes.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 Package of Phyllo Dough
- Butter (Melted)
- Granulated Sugar
- A Pinch of Salt
- Malted Milk Robin Eggs (or your favorite candy eggs)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Prep the Phyllo Dough:
Begin by unrolling one package of phyllo dough. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the sheets into thin strips. These will form the delicate “twigs” of your bird nests. - Form Your Nests:
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, gather small handfuls of the phyllo strips and gently shape them into loose nest-like circles. - Add Flavor:
Drizzle each nest with melted butter, then sprinkle with sugar and just a pinch of salt to bring out all the flavor. - Bake:
Place in a 375°F oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the nests are golden brown and crisp. - Decorate:
Once cooled, carefully transfer each nest to a serving plate or platter. Top with a few colorful malted milk robin eggs or any springtime candies of your choice.
